Checklists & Storing Info

Is there a way using buzztouch to create checklists? Store information within an app like flight info or phone #'s? Thanks, B

Not easily. Probably best to setup some sort of backend + webpage form to 'remember' data entered in the phone. This kind of logic kinda defeats the purpose of the mobile app int he first place though doesn't it? We've been tossing around a few ideas to all you to do this kind of data-entry thing. It would be a matter of setting up a 'form screen' or something that would auto-magically save the data to the phone and the control panel. Makese sense. Today, it's mostly about content management and not content creation but the future does look promising to allow these types of advanced features.

This is exactly what I would need to create my app as well. And if possible, the ability to be able to take pictures and then attach them to certain parts of the checklist, or add URL's to the checklist. Love the effort behind Buzztouch, and want to develop my first app soon. I am not much of a coder or programmer but a seasoned graphic designer with a great app idea!

Hi in Maine. Ever heard of Tenants Harbor? Spent a summer there as a kid - seems like forever ago! Data Entry/ Pics: We are working on a few few photo-upload screens to allow folks to snap pics and send them to your control panel or your site... not sure if that helps with the checklist idea or not? Welcome aboard. d.

Thanks.. down in the Portland area but know Downeast Maine pretty well. The checklist/data storage is key to the app. You have a category (say Favorite Album) and enter the answer. Or some questions might utilize the scroll wheel to select pre-programed answers. The photo idea is just extra feature to make the app that more marketable. Also would want to be able to trigger timed reminders. Maybe this is too much for Buzztouch right now? Looking to do it all on my own as I have no upfront capital but the skills and time to create the app (just no code skills).

Makes sense. There are some amazing things coming out of this project but like you mentioned, most of them do take some kung-fu. The over-arching goal is to create a content-centric (CMS) app manager. Idea like yours have been implemented but again, more of a code issue than anything else. If you do end up working with a developer, some folks have had great success with using BT to prototype their project, get all the screens connected together, then hire a dev. to finish ' one or two screen ' so it's far less $ than hiring a dev. to make an entire app. We hope to maybe start trackign who in the group could help with these kinds of tasks for a fee. We don't take fees and always say NO to development offers. To busy improving BT. Funny. There are also some good freelance sites online if you find a few bucks ;-)

David, thanks again for the feedback. Any freelance links or other dev site links would be helpful. I am looking at also trying to use LiveCode 4.5 as that natural english programming language might be easier to pick up than Object C.
