How to disable GPS from config files (not from within buzz touch)

I have some apps that I need to disable GPS in for testing (possibly this is whats screwing up the 1.5 apps on my end). Without directly going into my buzz touch control panel, how would I be able to tell the app to not use the GPS feature. (IE, where would the code be?). I figured it would be somewhere in the BT_config.txt file? But not sure what to edit to tell it 'No'. Version 1.5. Thanks, David. Made this new thread in case others need to do this for some reason.

In the config file, setting startLocationUpdates to 0 (zero, surrounded by quotes like everything else) tells the app to not start the location services. HOWEVER, if your app pulls it's config file from your control panel, it will get overwritten with the value in the Start Location Updates choice in Core Settings. If you're not pulling data from your control panel, and not using this, set it to zero in the config. A BETTER WAY is to do this: Find BT_application.m in the BT_Objects folder. Around line 58, look for this: self.rootLocationManager = [[BT_locationManager alloc] init]; comment it out so it looks like this: //self.rootLocationManager = [[BT_locationManager alloc] init]; This will prevent the location services from starting regardless of the value in the config data

What I did was disabled GPS from the control panel, and went into the config files and set it to 0, reinstalled app. Darren hinted that with my current jailbreak, GPS apps would show a black screen (he said his users has reported that), and to disable the GPS it might work. Sadly, still a black screen for my 1.5 apps. But otherwise, you did answer this question perfectly - but for a compiled app, no BT_Objects folder exists - just for reference :) Thanks David. David. names, funny. Crap, I keep forgetting that you don't have Xcode and stuff. THis changes everything. I'm looking for the original post so I can comment. I have this app running in the simulator but do have some comments. Switching to this post: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=CEBB2DDDF759271B8601D65 meet-cha there.
