Admob Android

Has anyone got Admob to work on the home screen of a buzztouch app? I think I can get it all except for the Home scree XML. Maybe someone can post working xml for the home screen that has the admob code in it. Any other methods to make a little money off a good app beside selling it? Thanks,

See if you can talk the app into being a mule!

So talk to the app and it turns in to a mule... Hum may just be a top downloaded app... lol. Just wondering if people are having any luck with the 'ad's methods out. I see a lot of apps paid and a second one with ads. And to uses ad's with buzztouch get it to showup someplace on the screen.

I use ads directly into the html of the page, and will wait until buzz has that feature.

AdMob - interesting. One of the reasons we have not put an 'Ad' option in your control panel is an ongoing project / roll-out with a leading mobile ad provider. We are hoping to make this easy but it's more complicated than it sounds. Stay tuned - were close to figuring out a way to help you guys make a few bucks for all your effort ;-)

David, here is the instructions I tried: http://www.admob.com/docs/AdMob_Android_SDK_Instructions.pdf Seems like I lose it at step 4 (I can create the attrs.xml): The buzztouch app menus and eveything else stops working when I add the code to the main section... Maybe you can peace a sample XML layout using buzztouch and the below that floats either under the banner or on the bottom of the main menu. Step 4 ? Editing Your Layout Create a reference to the attrs.xml file in your layout element by adding an xmlns line that includes your package name (your package name is specified in AndroidManifest.xml). For example, if your package name were com.example.SampleApp, you would include this line: xmlns:myapp=http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/com.example.SampleApp For a simple screen with only an ad, your layout element would look like this: AdMob AdViews can be included in any type of XML layout. If you'd prefer to create your AdView programmatically, please see the Javadoc for a description of relevant constructors.

I'll see if I can get a look at it, tough finding time around here lately! LOL. Can't be that hard. Fact is, I've done almost ZERO ad integration work with Android, just kinda have'nt. Need to, really do. I'll get to it. Thanks for the URL, it will be helpful.

I got it to work in my app after a while. The easiest place for me to put it was in the custom URL portion as that is basically what my app used to make a mobile site into an app.

I must give this as go as well. An ongoing project / roll-out with a leading mobile ad provider sounds fab :)

Say jmp4106 [TV Streemer], is the admob stuff still working out for you? I am trying to make a mobile site into an app with admob ads too, and if you have any more clues to drop I am all ears. I haven't started trying to add the admob code yet, I am combing first through the forums to shore up my knowledge. I assume you made the app so that the custome url is a menu item that the user has to click first, then they are taken to the url - is the admob code in the mobile site and not actually in the Buzztouch App, or did you insert the code into the custome URL BT control panel field somehow? Thanks for any advice.

yeah it is. i mean i'm not making a ton of money on it but i've gotten about $100/month from it. if you check out my app you'll see how it runs in there. I can get it to run however as you notice it covers up the navigation bar on the top, but I figure it doesn't really have any required functions, the back button on your android works just fine too :-) Maybe I should write a guide or something? It's really easy. If I get time a little later I can post my manifest additions, my XML additions, and my attrs.xml file.

Thanks so much for the reply. I downloaded your app, I see where you put the ads. I hate to be a code mooch, but yes if you get time I would so love to see your manifest, XML and attrs.xml. I am pretty noob, but persistent as heck, and with a jumpstart I know I can figure this out.
