2 keys?

do i use the same api key i used in debug mode for release for google maps? in the readme txt. it talks about getting 2 keys..can i use same key for debug and realease?

Good questions, confuses lots of folks. No, you cannot use the same key for debug and release. When you're ready to put your Android App in the Market, you'll need to make one adjustment. The layout file for the map is Screen_locationmap.xml file inside the /res/layout directory. It is probably 'pointing' to the strings file to get the debug api key. You'll need to adjust this setting to point to the release key you entered in strings.xml file (inside /res)

thanks dave. i understand where i need to adjust setting to point to release key...so do i use keytool to make another key then go to google site to get another api key? if so i need to find out how to make a second keytool i keep seeing the first one i made...am i making sense? thanks!!

It is a bit confusing but yes, you do need to make two keys using the keytool, if you havn't done it already.

got it!!! thanks!! now have as many keys as i want to make!!
