Could it be that your seeing black-text on a black-screen, meaning you would not be able to see anything? What is the background color of the HTML document? Something's not making sense. Because you mentioned the Android simulator, you must be working with a v1.4 app. The backround color of the HTML is controlled by the HTML itself. Check the CSS in the HTML maybe?

Funny, I just came in to post about this issue. Maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but I don't see anywhere in the global theme where I can change text color. I'm not talking about the Row Font Color for either Title or Description, I see those settings. But for text on a custom HTML/Text page, it's black by default and that's it. I also set a solid black background throughout my theme, so that's turning the custom HTML/Text pages to Black on Black. I'm no HTML dummy, and I know I can set font colors using HTML on each such page, but that's an extra step that could be avoided with quick a theme setting, I bet. And I'm thinking this is going to be an issue for more people who set a theme background to black and are thinking their app is broken. Hopefully you can add a setting for non-menu text color in the theme, so we can make a sweeping global change. Another thought is you might be able to incorporate some existing code for an html markup editor option on the Custom HTML/Text pages. People could switch back and forth between the HTML editor or plaintext coding from scratch. This would be useful to the less experienced DIY'ers. I bet that's already in the works for the new control panel version. Likewise with a color picker of some sort? These are all more streamlining ideas that I'm sure you've thought of and we'll see sometime in the future. I'm sure there are more pressing issues at hand. Thanks, R2-D2

Color picker - for sure, need this bigtime. HTML / Text editors are my nemisis. v1.4 uses one but doesn't allow the user to see the html, just the formatted text. The part I get frustrated with is all the mumb-jumbo they seem to inject in otherwise clean-code. My problem, not yours, just a pet-peave of mine. Problably otta toss an editor in their ;-) Text color: The challenge with this is the only 'text' on the screen that's not part of a menu or button or navigation bar is going to be in a document (html, pdf, etc). Providing a screen-text color does make sense but it how do we apply it? In other words, how would we auto-magically apply this color to pdf? Word? HTML? Hmm... does make sense that folks will get confused, should be an easy fix, can't think of what it would be though?
