Using HTML

Hi David, just a Q about using HTML. What is the difference between HTML and html5 which is being used on mobile apps these days? And is it possible to just create pages using dreamweaver, with tables set to 320 wide, then copy the code into a buzz touch project. Is this something routinely being done?

You have the right idea. The differences between HTML (4.0) and HTML (5.0) are related to newly supported functions, and depracated functions. For most folks, writing basic HTML, the differences are not important in this context. Creating a document with Dreamweaver or other editor is effecient. When using an editor like Dreamweaver, be sure that your copying the source in 'code-view' so you get the raw HTML. Also, when pasting .. if you're doing this in v1.5 it's a bit different than 1.4. The new version allows you to paste the 'body' contents seperate, be sure you understand the parts of the html doc. Lastly, have a look at the proviced header stuff in the Custom HTML configuration screen. You'll see a meta-tag with 'viewport' and other neat stuff. This is an important concept when writing html for mobile. Maybe a quickie Google Search for 'how to write html for mobile safari' or something like that. It's easy but there are some tricks.

Well here's my two cents. From what I can tell, HTML5 is just a little more neater and updated with its coding tags then HTML 4. I don't think there are much differences you can actually see on the outside, more or less better for developers. I have dreamweaver, and yep, you can do that, I have tried something similar using BlueVoda. :) David (not david david).
