OK, don't get discouraged, 100% of the time these things are related to your Eclipse install and all the necessary parts needed before your machine will compile Android projects. Did you also watch the video? It shows some screen shots during the process and your computer must be setup like the screen shots. At minimum, it sounds like you don't have the Google Android SDK and the Gooble Maps External API's installed. There are dozens of discussions about this in the forum, or, you could start by doing a Google Search for 'how to install the Android SDK' It get frustrating, but it's totally worth it. Good luck and re-post if you can't get your machine configured.

If you guys don't understand how to install Eclipse along with the needed Android SDK components, you'll never get anywhere. Start by understanding how Eclipse works - it will all make sense then ;-)

I started a new Android project and I come up with this. ( An Eclipse project already exists in this directory. Consider using File > Import > Existing Project instead.) How do I see the projects and where are they. I keep coming up with errors. I would like to just start over so I downloaded the sorce code and replaced it with the one I had.

This is just Eclipses way of letting you know that you've already created an app in the same place your saving the new app. This may or may not be the case, Eclipse is funky sometimes. If you've watched the video (Android, getting started, compiling video) can you duplicate those steps EXACTLY? I create projects literally everday and always keep them in the same directory. Eclipse yells at me sometimes but it works fine.

Yup, still sounds like you havn't got Eclipse straightened out. This shouldn't be this hard - pout face. Maybe you could re-visit the Android dev. site and ensure that you have followed all the steps to setting up your machine. You could also try just creating a generic Hello World app and see if you can get Eclipse to behave.
