last question for today

I set up a theme so my background color is blue. I plan on creating many html files with that same background utilizing white font. However I also want to have a few custom url's that link to preexisting websites. These online websites keep loading with my default blue background. I've tried going into the options for that particular screen and change the background to clear, white and #FFFFFF but none of them are working. Do you HAVE to keep the same color for every screen when using screens? Here's the screen's info if it helps... app: ERres2 Then choose acls-> AHA 2010-> summary-> this is the screen I'm having problems with. Thanks! Josh

It sounds like you have the right idea and understand this. If you have a blue background in theme because 'most' screens should be blue - good. Then, on a screen where you don't want a blue background, you can over-ride the theme by setting the background color in that screens advanced properties. Like you have in your example screen above - it's got a background set to #FFFFFF (white) - this is good and this is the format for colors. I have successfully download, compiled, and launched your app (cool stuff). I chose acls > aha 2010 > summary which loads a URL with a webpage. The webpage has a white background, no blue background? Am I missing something? This seems to do exactly what the control panel is setup to do. blue background on previous screens (from the theme), then white background on this screen because it's setup that way in the advanced properties. One more thing to keep in mind: Many MANY webpages have a background color coded in their HTML or CSS. If this is the case, most will not show the underlying screens background color. In order to make sure the body or html have a 'clear' background the css sometimes need adjusted to include background-color:transparent If you dont' control the HTML you may not be able to change this. In any case, this one is showing white as expected.

If the HTML had a background color you didn't want to use, you might be able to change that with a CSS override, and the !important markup. For example: http://css-tricks.com/override-inline-styles-with-css/

It has a white background this morning when I woke up. Not sure what happened. I sat there last night and kept hitting refresh multiple times but it stayed blue. At least it works now!

I've found a few hour's sleep can work wonders for HTML code.
