Base SDK missing

Everything goes fine until this step 4) Select Simulator with the Debug configuration selected in the configuration drop-down menu (top left). I cant find it in the drop down menu and also it says that the base SDK is missing. When i try to skip this step, there is an error that says could not locate iphone0s4,1 please help

in Xcode tap the (i) info button in the top right of the project. Change Base SDK to the most current one you are using. WIll fix the base SDK missing problem.
