Image XML Element in RSS Feeds (menu item)

I'm not quite sure where the Image XML element displays on the app. I have an XML/RSS feed that uses the tag mobilepic, so I've entered mobilepic in the Image XML Element for the menu item (RSS Feed type). Where does this image display (and are there any corresponding display options? i.e. display to the left of the story item)? The rest of the RSS/XML feed displays just fine on the simulator. Thanks!!

RSS feeds can get compliated. If you are able to successfully get it to load the image, the image will show to the left of the story. The size of the image is controlled by the row size / layout options in the advanced settings for the RSS screen you are adding. The tough part is getting the XML attribute names right - lots of different ways to do RSS ;-). I can look into this too.

Hey David, Do you have a recommendation on the best way to get the image to work in the RSS feed? - does it need to be any specific size (does it need to be smaller than a specific height/width) - does it need to be a specific format? (jpg/png) - any recommendation on what tag I should use? Before I added the mobilepic tag as a child of ITEM, I was originallying using RSS 2.0 standards where the image is inside the IMAGE child of the ITEM http://xxx.xxx.com/xxx.jpg - unfortunately I didn't know if there was a way to put a child and a subchild in the BuzzTouch Image XML Element field (in this case IMAGE.URL). - are the advanced settings required for the image size (and is there a minimum size, etc?) And THANK YOU soooooo sooooo much for your hard work on 1.5! It's been really exciting and I've been playing on it for almost 24 hours straight, LOL! It's an incredible and amazing tool that's cut iOS development time immensely!

Kindly paste the URL to the RSS you are using here in this forum. When I get to the desk I'll figure out the images, sizes, layout for the feed.

Thanks David! Here's the test feed we're using: http://209.172.191.253/unwired/xml_feedburn_BT_test.cfm?src=buzz§ions=news&entries=20 I've added back in the MOBILEPIC child tag for testing, but the IMAGE.URL (from RSS 2.0 specs) is still in the feed too for the item/stories which have a photo. Thanks for your help and kudos again on an amazing product!

OK...before doing anything else, be sure to re-download the latest source-code for your project. This should'nt be a big deal but I have updated a few small things. a) On the RSS Screen you created... Use the URL to the feed you provided b) Set the Image SIze Small Device to 50, larger or smaller works too but will require additional changes to row-height, title height, etc. I also used 50 for Large Device (ipad) c) Image Scale: Scale the Image d) Apply Shiny Effect: Yes, apply shiny effect e) Image Corner Radius: 5 You don't have to apply the shiny effect or round the corner, I just like it better than 'flat square icons' Only three of the items have images in the feed you provided, this is OK, images will show for these three an not for the others. Good luck.

up 24 / 7, funny, nothing new! Innovation and disruption comes at cost, in this case, plenty of coffee! Glad it's working for you. Note: Your questions are not troublesome and are very helpful. This question allowed me to discover a few things that still need adjusted in the way RSS feeds are created and configured. A number of small gotchas came up while I was investigating your inquiry and I'm planning a few improvements based exactly on your feedback. Good stuff - thanks!
