Hide Tab on 'Home screen'

Hi, Firstly loving v1.5 - is exactly what i've been waiting for. However I do have a question - possibly the 1st of many!!! I want to use a tabbed layout, however I don't want the tab to show on my 'home screen' (i.e Tab 1 Home Screen). I thought this would be easy enough by selecting the 'Yes, hide the tab-bar' from the screen's properties menu but unfortunately this doesn't have the desired effect. This only seems to occur on the screen I select for 'Tab 1 Home Screen' Is there a way I can hide the tab-bar for my Tab 1 Home Screen? Thanks in advance.

Good Questions: The hide-tab-bar property only applies when a screen is 'transitioned in', like when you tap a menu item to load a new screen, the new screen could be set to hide the tabber so the content is taller. Tapping back would then transition back to the previous screen where the tab bar would show again. What your explaining isn't possible. It's not a buzztouch limitation, it's an iOS limitation. You either have a tabbed app or you do not - you cannot have it both ways. This is a design guideline set by apple. The whole idea behind tabs is to have multiple 'home screens' that are always available by selecting another tab (you problably already realize this). Could it be that what you really mean is like a splash screen, with an image or something, that never goes away until the user taps something? Not sure what you're after ;-)

Hi David Thanks for the quick reply. I guessed it was probably an ios limitation. I wanted the tab-bar to appear on every screen except the 1st home screen - it's a grid menu that has buttons along the bottom, which get hidden by the tab-bar. And also it features buttons to the other home screens so the tab-bar effectively duplicates them. Anyway those were the reasons why but i appreciate that it can't be done so i will alter my approach. Thanks again for the quick response and the brilliant v1.5!

Hi David, Thanks for the reply. I guessed it was probably to do with iOS rather than buzztouch. I wanted a tabbed app with the tab-bar appearing on every screen except the 'home screen' on 'tab 1'. The reasons for this is because that screen uses a grid menu on my app and the tab-bar was covering the bottom buttons and also because the grid featured buttons for the other 'home screens' anyway, therefore the tab-bar was effectively duplicating them. Anyway I appreciate that what I wanted can't be done so I will adopt a different approach with my app. Thanks again for your help.

Got it - your idea does make sense. Like you said, another approach will be necessary ;-)
