Some feedback from a general user

I really love how EASY it is to create an application with buzztouch. So far, I've made two applications within a few minutes that are already a big hit in the jailbroken community. However as customizable as it is, its not very... customizable. For instance, I would like to remove, or move around the main banner image, or the text Home Screen Menu ect, perhaps making the app look a little more custom rather then having users mistake it as a fast copy app when they run into similar apps with the same framework. And as great as it is that you can use this with windows, it really defeats the purpose for windows developers to create an app, but then needing mac to compile it. If I had a mac, I wouldn't probably be using buzztouch in the first place. I have no idea how difficult it would be to have these things auto compile - or if it can even be done, but I would look into that. Also, perhaps, an emulator, to demo the app before having to download, compile, and upload it into your app, could be usefull. Anyways, other then that, I'm really happy with buzztouch so far, and hope to see some updates soon! Regards, David.

Thanks for the insights... all are helpful ;-) We have considered lots of the things you mentioned and have made huge improvements to your layout and screen optiosn in the upcoming v1.5. Some of the others topics mentioned are beyond our control but we do hope to continually improve the process none-the-less. Thanks again for the VERY constructive feedback - awesome.

No problem. Do you have any information on what new features should be expected, and more important, when these will be available for the public? David.

I have sent an email, hope to hear from you soon! One last comment: My users have been complaining that the back button takes you all the way back to the menu screen, rather then going back in the browser with the custom URL for the mobile site is. Perhaps create a button to go back to the menu called menu and change the back button to be associated with the built in browser for external links. That would solve many headaches. Take care, David.

Yup, the Back button issue is resolved in the new version. The original idea was that you could create the web-pages you were loading and therefore you would create the navigation within them. It turned out that almost nobody does this and instead point there apps to existing web-pages that don't have any understanding that they are being rendered in an app, meaning there is no special navigation bar. The new back-button-behavior will be especially useful when loading pages you didn't create / own.

I see - that's perfect! But a button to go back to the main menu is still extremely useful (rather then clicking back a hundred times) will that be replaced with a new menu/home button, or removed all together with the new fixed back button? Here's another thing that might be of interest. Features to allow you to input Google Adsense or Ad Mob ads within the application, enter your ad code, buzz touch does the rest. This seems like one of the must have vital features that would really be used by - well - everyone really. David.

Ads, yes, this would be awesome. At this point, we just need to get the new version released. We'll continue to evolve, improve, etc. but gotta stop somewhere or nothing will ever get released - funny. Back Button: The top left nav bar button in the new version is still the back button for the application screen. It will still trigger the animation to load the previoius App screen. However, many views now allow the addition of a bottom toolbar to accomodate things like back / refresh / control sound / open in Safari, etc. Good stuff. These features in the toolbar are turned on / off in the control panel. There are some cases when no nav or refresh buttons are appropriate, no sound to play etc. Checkboxes control this behavior on each screen. Additionally, the top-right button in the nav bar can be configured to load any screen. So, nav bar has top left, top right buttons for primary app navigation and toolbars appropriate for the screen-type are used for additional functions.

Agreed. Also - awesome @ the back button updates. Ads should be extremely important through, helps your users make money from your services = more clients/people for you (whenever you decide to monetize buzztouch). When do you think the new version will be released? I'm extremely excited to see it live :) David.

Agreed. @ back button - Awesome! Ads should be extremely important as an update - not just for users - but for you. The minute you give people an easy way to earn money via your services, you will be able to get much more customers/clients and hence gain a profit for yourself (once you monetize buzztouch). The more money you make and the more popular buzztouch gets, the more motivation you will have to release updates faster and better, its like a wonderful circle. When do you think this new version will be live and public? I'm dying to see what you've done with it so far! David.

Have a look at this for some 1.5 info. Our Early Adopter list should get an email in the next few days with some info about using the new control panel.
