Another RSS Feed dilema

Ok, here it goes. What i am trying to do is get the rss feed(s) from my site to work on my app. When i click on the button on my app it says: Error Loading RSS URL in red, below that it lists my rss feed url. This is a working rss feed but not working on the app. Clues? (BTW, Thank you very much for replying so fast to my last post!)

Lets start with: Android or iOS? What's the RSS URL?

Here is the url that we are having problems with. http://paposseracing.com/index.php?option=com_ninjarsssyndicator&feed_id=1&format=raw This link is currently generating a RSS 2.0 feed which is as close as we can get to the supplied example. We can also adjust the joomla configuration to generate other output types but the RSS feeds are the closest to working. We also can't figure out at way to get our Google Picasa http://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/base/user/jasonbly76?alt=rss&kind=album&hl=en_US or Youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/rss/tag/paposseracing.rss working. But naturally the website RSS feeds are the most important.

Oh and we are focusing on Android first but we have a feeling that this would error on iOS as well.

I'll look into this tomorrow... running out of gas! Speaking of gas, I was a HUGE sprint-car fan in the mid 90's. So much that I travelled to Knoxville one year with my buddies to see the nationals. We ran a car out of Placerville CA, a old beater 360 that didn't do us much as far as winning but did us TONS as far as fun. I didn't drive, I was a mechanic back in the day and wrenched on the thing more than anyone!!! Laughs. Neat to see the pics in the RSS. I'll report back after looking tomorrow. Give a nudge on this post if you don't see another post from me.

That's awesome. I've seen races online from Placersville. We love it. I went to Knoxville in 2005. Had an unforgetable time. We can't wait to create these mobile apps so people can stay on top of what's going on anywhere they are.

I looked into this a bit yesterday, didn't figure it out yet, got a little distracted yesterday with all the goings on. I'll continue diagnosing later this eve. Good nudge, needed it ;-)

OK... looked at this for awhile. None of the RSS feeds you listed are outputting valid RSS data. Google Picasa and YouTube are outputting Atom feeds, not RSS feeds. You may or may not find an option in those control panels for the RSS formatted data? The feed from your site, the one created by the FeedCreator 1.8.0-dev generator (got that from your sites source-code) is also not output RSS. Open this URL http://paposseracing.com/index.php?option=com_ninjarsssyndicator&feed_id=4&format=raw in Firefox (not Safari) then View Source - you'll see it's not valid. The comments at the top need to be removed and the lastBuildDate element needs to be pubDate We didn't create the RSS standard... just trying to support it ;-) The upcoming version... v1.5, allows you to enter the names of the elements you want to parse / display. This should allow almost any feed RSS / Atom / Custom like yours to work. Today, you'll need to use RSS feeds only.

Great thanks for looking into that for us. I will have to look for a true RSS feed generator for Joomla. When will 1.5 be released so we can add the Atom feeds?

Hi. I have got the same problem as you using Ninja Rss Syndicator and my app for android. Have you found any rss component for joomla what works fine with apps? Thanks
