Hmm, can't say I've seen this one before. What is the name of the application you created? Also, BE SURE there are no apostrophes or other special characters in the applications name. If there are, rename it in your control panel then re-download the project.

Sounds like you have the latest version of the iOS SDK, this is good. a) Highlight you project in the project explorer on the left b) Click the info button in the toolbar to open the projects settings, c) Scroll down to the Target SDK (or something like that) and choose the one you have installed, probably iOS 4.2 if you recently downloaded Xcode. Hear this all the time, simple Xcode setting ;-)

Thanks David. I did all that but when I selected iOS 4.2 I get the error message code signing is required for product type 'Application' in SDK iOS 4.2. This project is killing me...lol

Killin' ya, you're just getting started! LOL. You got some issues going on with Xcode - not a big deal. Look back in your project settings, where you just selected the proper SDK. There is a Code Signing thing too, set this to Do not code sign or set it to the selected provisioning profile you got from Apple if you are compiling for release. Do Not Code sign works best on the simulator. You will need to code sign to install it on your device.

I tried the Do not code sign, but it did not take any effect. I made the app on Buzz Touch as an assignment for my grad school class so there isn't anything going to Apple. It isn't going on any device. I set the do not code sign and I still get the error code that I must code sign this application..

Hoping to help get your through your assignment ;-) There are a few different settings in Xcode for code-signing, a few different places to tell it not to code-sign. Example: For 'Debug' you may have it set tot ask for code sign on the simulator but not on the device. Check to make sure you are actually telling it to run in the simulator (top left drop-down when you click 'Build and Run.' Also, check to make sure you don't have it set to code-sign for Release, or Debug, etc. Sounds like you are telling Xcode to use a 'Device' instead of the Simulator.

Awesome, glad you got it to work. What school are you studying at? I'm a HUGE higher-learning fan and love to hear from folks in the trenches. Oh, maybe Cincinnati, gotta love the forum handle.
