Hello, I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. This is going to be my first experience building an app. This is going to be my first attempt at any kind of coding/programing really. I've strictly been on the user end of things. In all seriousness, the closest I've ever come to something like this was using a mod for a Star Wars RTS I used to play. I'm sure I have a hell of a learning curve ahead of me, but I can point to apps that have already been made and say what I want to do that they do. My situation is this: I am a starving artist creative type and I'm looking to craft a new tool to distribute my material. I've done some research on the companies I could pay to make apps, but the starving artist thing makes that an impossibility. Eventually, I would like to make an app that would allow access to mp3s, streaming audio, text and pictures. I'm not sure how realistic a goal this is, but I realize that I should start off simple. First Goal: I have a 20 page text document that I would like to sell in an app. My initial thoughts are that it may be easier from an experience stand point to start small and make just make the document as a stand alone app, although I would like to make an app where multiple documents are available. Before I signed up, I went through the forums to see what kind of problems other new people might be having. I don't understand most of it, but I see that the community here is sincere and polite in being helpful. I'll keep all my Oh God! What the hell does this mean! frustrations to this post, otherwise I'm sure I'd fill the first few pages of the board in days. Now to start getting my hands dirty! -Phill
