Trusted App Status? & the $25.00 submit fee to Android

I was surprised to find that there is a $25.00 fee with the Android Market to submit your app to them, even free ones, then they will take cash on the purchase of the app as well if it is a non-trial app. Is there a way to put trusted app status in the building of the app, so that you don't have to run it in a Unkown Sources mode. And is there other Android Stores to submit your apps too? Seems like this would be a no brainer for a business. For example, we don't all go to the same place to purchase our music. Any ideas? BC

There are lots of alternatives for distributing Android apps outside of Google Android Market. Howwever, you cannot change the fact that users must 'allow non trusted apps.' This is a trade-off i guess in that Apple won't even let you do anything outside of their market. Google 'android app distribution options' for all kinds of good info.

I intend on releasing our app to Market. And also submitting it to the two popular repositories that are non-market based. There are so many future and current Droid Tablets and Laptops roaming around that are not market accessible. I'm under the impression that the $25 fee is a ONE TIME fee. For your account... submit all the apps you want. I could be wrong... there's only one way to find out.

Thanks David for the info. HottWeelz, it sounded to me like it was 25 per app. That's not bad, but if you aren't really in it for a profit, then the 25 bucks is a little steap. Who knows, I'll probably give it a try after I develop mine a little further. I plan on putting google advertising code inside the bottom, to make the app free. Still haven't figured how to do it, but seems pretty simple.

Just remember if you set a app to free you can not make it a pay app. You would have to upload another paid version.

Ok, so it's 25.00 for each type of app you upload, 25 for unlimited free and 25 for paid? And also does it show up as a buzztouch application in the search or does it show up as me being the creator of said app? And, is there any way to customize that?

Android Market charges a ONE TIME fee of $25.00. This fee has nothing to do with how many apps you upload or whether they are free or not. The apps are not associated with buzztouch in anyway when you upload them to the market.
