Apple is rejecting special characters in app descriptions

I guess Apple is trying to push the App Store towards a more sleek and clean cut aesthetic It is a little annoying though..I had gotten in the habit of using stars for emphasis and checkmarks to list out features. I liked using 5 stars at the top to display any 5 star ratings I received along with the review. Checkmarks were great as a bulleted point of features. WIsh I could have known earlier I would have updated all of my descriptions beforehand! :) David. Comments @Absentia totally.
