We found that your app includes full screen transitions.

This is a new one for me. After an initial rejection for a web page screen and some advertising nonsense, Apple have come back with this. Has anyone else seen this with a BT app? As far as I was aware, the guidelines state that's you should avoid full screen transitions in an iPad app, not that they were forbidden.

It's another one of those Apple things, I guess… Some reviewer who drives a prius and feels like a guardian of the tasteful thinks a bit too strongly about section 10.1 despite the fact that it is not prohibited, merely "not recommended". And you can petition it if you wish. But you'll have to defend why you think it is better than what they want to see… Is it an iPad only app, or is it a universal…? Good Luck with all of that, they're an unpredictable bunch. Cheers! -- Smug

So what I did was change it to an iPhone only app and it got through. However, I looked at my layouts and worked out for the next app what I would do: For large screens, have a background image. For most screens, have most things transparent No clever flipping or curling of screens Now, the large screen version keeps the background image and other screens just slide on over. Since then I've had an app go through with no problems and I used this method. Is it because I changed how I do things or was it because I just go a different reviewer? I'll never know.

I can understand the page flipping and page curling being a problem. That particular convention is indeed more applicable to storybooks and newspapers and magazines. Most apps would feel out of place with a page curl in it.
